ABOUT ME
Born and bred in Cumbria, I’ve always been inspired by the beauty and variety of the natural world. I live with my beautiful wife, our three children, a much-loved dog and a cat, who all bring plenty of colour and chaos to everyday life.
After many years away from painting, I’ve rediscovered my passion for the freedom and creativity of working on canvas. My landscapes explore the changing light, atmosphere and energy of nature, from quiet, intimate scenes to sweeping vistas. Using bold colour, loose brushwork and rich texture, I aim to capture the feeling of a place rather than simply reproduce it.
I’m equally passionate about portraiture. Every face has its own character, quirks and story, and I love the challenge of capturing not just a likeness but the personality behind it. My approach is instinctive and expressive, bringing warmth, energy and individuality to each portrait.
Above all, I paint for the sheer joy of it. Whether a familiar face or a favourite landscape, I want my paintings to feel fresh, spontaneous and full of life.
